I took this photo from a big ferry boat. I was approaching an island in the Philippines when all of a sudden a small fisherman boat, locally called ‘bangka’ appeared heading out into the ocean. I mostly love this photo because of its dynamic nature and the contrasting colors of the ocean and the fisherman’s clothes.

This dory sits nicely at anchor in Feltzen South, Nova Scotia. Moored along a roadside it seems to be perfectly positioned for tourists to stop and photograph it. Dory’s were loaded aboard fishing schooners and taken out to the Grand Banks of Canada’s East Coast where they were off loaded and used to fish cod.

This photo characterises Venice in its purest form: the gondola and the canal. Nowadays, large cruise ships are allowed into the tiny city, disrupting its otherwise uncontaminated landscape. The gondola represents a relaxing and harmful way to travel Venice, blending into the beautiful architecture and without polluting the environment.

Sulkava Rowing is Finland’s biggest rowing event that has gathered at it’s best over 10 000 rowers to compete on a 60 km long route. This shot is taken in Sulkava too, however this particular rower isn’t competing. Just rowing and relaxing in a calm environment.
